The moment I stray from my coppers and cranberries is the moment my comfort zone ends. I rarely lean towards cool tones or even neutrals, however, from watching a bunch of YouTube videos on favourite single eyeshadows, I began to make a list of different shades I wanted in my collection. One of my favourites was an Olive/Gold/Silver shadow (it’s hard to explain, but it’s definitely not one simple tone). Once I had the eyeshadow in my collection I did a look with it that I loved and paired it with a blue/purple metallic lip. I recently remade this look and simplified it to 5 shadows (that doesn’t seem very simple I know, but some of the steps I took you can skip out).
So here is what I did to achieve this easy Olive Smokey eye.
Love, Chloe.
Original look:
Remake:
Step 1: I started with Morphe Brushes single eyeshadow in ‘Spice’ which I used as my transition shade. It’s a very subtle orange that’s a perfect base to help blend other colours together. Buff this colour into the crease using circular and back-forth motions.
Step 2: To begin to deepen the crease, I took Make-Up Geek’s single eyeshadow in ‘Cocoa Bear’. This is a beautiful brown that I highly recommend for anyone to have in their collection. Buff this colour into the crease again, focusing it slightly lower down than Spice.
Step 3: For the pop of olive, I took Anastasia Beverly Hill’s single eyeshadow in ‘Truffle Glitter’. I placed this all over the lid using my finger (to get the most pigment) or you can use a flat brush and spray it with some fix plus to make it stand out more.
Step 4: To deepen the outer corner of the eye, I used two Urban Decay shadows from the Gwen Stefani palette. The first shade I took is ‘Punk’, this is a mix of a brown and a deep purple. I took this on a small packer brush and started to pack it onto the outer corner of the eye making sure to blend as I go. I did the same with the shade ‘Blackout’, a true black shade, however, I kept this further on the outer corner. You can skip out this step if you don’t want the look to be as Smokey.
Step 5 (Also Optional): I took a black liquid liner and drew a wing to complete my look.
Sooo pretty!!! The wing is absolutely flawless😍
