Morphe 35O Review

If you’re a make-up lover, then you will know that the Morphe 35O palette has been a constantly sold out item for the past 2 years. Morphe brushes is an American brand, which makes it 10x harder to get hold of the palette in the UK, However, more sites are now selling the palette although it remains sold out on almost all of them. I kept my eye out for the palette since it launched until finally, I was able to purchase it at glamsaidey.com. The palette has 35 different eyeshadows, some matte and some shimmer. Morphe also came out with an entirely matte and entirely shimmer version of this palette, neither of which I have tried. The palette is £21 for 35 shades. This is an absolute steal of a price, but is it worth it?

Pigmentation – The majority of the shadows have medium pigmentation. Some are extremely pigmented (these tend to be the shimmer ones) and some have hardly any pigment at all. But considering you’re only paying £21 for 35 shadows, you can’t expect them all to be of high pigmentation. All of my favourite shadows in the palette (which are shown lower down) have very good pigmentation.

Colour – the 35O stands for 35 Orange and it certainly meets its name. This palette is warm tone heaven. There is a wide selection of reds, oranges, neutrals and browns. Everything you need for the perfect fall or all year round make-up look. This isn’t the palette for you if you like bright make-up looks, but if you’re me and you feel out of place when you don’t have warm shadows on, then this is perfect for you. This is my favourite colour scheme ever and what I love is that there’s an even amount of matte and shimmer shadows.

Sizing – when you hear a palette has 35 eyeshadows in it and is only £20, you can’t help but think that the palette is going to be tiny and not worth it. But, with this palette, every single eyeshadow is the size of a typical eyeshadow i.e. they’re pretty much the same size as MAC individual shadows. The palette is huge. This is a good thing in terms of the shadows itself because it means you have a lot of product for your money, however, this palette is not travel-friendly. Trust me, when you’re on a 3-hour train journey home with nothing but a small bag it’s very hard to find the space to pack your giant palette in.

Formula – some of the shadows are so buttery and easily blendable and others aren’t (what you would expect from most palettes anyway). Some of the deeper shades are a bit harder to blend, but it’s also important to have the right brushes (Morphe make amazing brushes for reference). Some of the shadows also have a lot of fall out, so make sure you tap the excess shadow off your brush before putting it on your eye. You can also easily prevent fall out from ruining your make-up by doing your eyes first or putting a layer of translucent powder under the eyes which you can just wipe away once your eye-makeup is done. The longevity of the shadows is great as well. They last just as well as all my other shadows.

Overall this is probably my favourite palette, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Morphe is a great brand and I will continue to buy palettes and brushes from them.
